Data deletion
Delete everything
with one email.
One email closes your account and deletes everything. This applies to everyone: subscribers, former subscribers, demo visitors, anywhere in the world, with no fee and no conditions.
The steps, in order.
- Email hello@dayposter.com with the subject "Delete my account", from the email address on your Dayposter account. Any wording works; the subject is just the quickest. Nothing else is required: no form, no reason, no call.
- Posting stops the moment we read it. The stop flag on your account is set before anything else happens, so nothing further posts while the deletion runs.
- We confirm receipt within 2 business days. If your email does not match an account on file, we ask one verifying question (your studio name, or the connected Instagram handle) so we delete the right records, then proceed.
- We delete everything within 7 days, as listed below.
- We email you a confirmation when the deletion is complete.
Never had an account? If you used the demo, the website you typed, the email you entered and the story they produced are deleted within 30 days on their own. Email hello@dayposter.com anyway and we clear them at once.
What is deleted,
and where.
- Instagram connection. We delete your profile at our posting rail, upload-post, which discards the access token and the account id Meta issued when you connected. We can no longer post.
- Our database (Cloudflare D1). Your studio record: name, time zone, contact email, second preview address, booking link, brand color, logo, typeface and design choices, every setting, your Instagram handle, and your Stripe customer and subscription ids. Every night's record: the schedule as it stood, what happened, and when. The event log for your account.
- Our storage (Cloudflare R2). Every rendered story, every preview image, every brand photo you sent, and every cached instructor photo.
- Email. Your threads in our support inbox. Resend's delivery records for the emails we sent you expire under Resend's own policy.
- The demo. The website you typed, the schedule we read from it, and the story we drew, in our database and storage.
- Stripe. Your subscription is cancelled. The customer record stays with the invoices, for the reason below.
Published stories live on your Instagram account, not with us. Each one disappears from your profile 24 hours after it posts, and any archived copy is under your control inside Instagram.
The one thing
that stays.
Invoices and tax records the law requires us to keep, held by Stripe and used for nothing else.
Cut access on
Instagram's side, too.
You do not need our help to revoke access: in the Instagram app, open Settings, then Website permissions, then Apps and websites, and remove the Dayposter connection. The access token dies immediately. Do this any time, before or after emailing us; deletion on our side proceeds regardless.
A person answers.
hello@dayposter.com. Stopping posting without deleting anything is separate and instant: the stop link in every email, a STOP reply, or stop@dayposter.com.
